Performance:
The BD-17 variants possess exceptional flying qualities. Basic stability in all three axes is positive in both static and dynamic terms. Control harmony is smooth and even for pitch, roll and yaw control. Roll response is smooth and positive, even during stall buffeting.
In tricycle gear configuration, the nose wheel is full-castering. Ground steering is light in both configurations, through differential wheel braking and rudder control.
